“My life was spent full of fear. Fear that I can’t cope. Fear of my reaction to the world outside. Through dealing with the staff and encouragement of my friends and family, I am excited about life, not afraid. I’m so optimistic about the future, excited even. Thank you everyone.” – Korrine H., Benzodiazepine detox with Restore

“My experience: Before I started New Beginnings I was lost and had no real help after using for 8 years. When I first came to New Beginnings I was very skeptical because none of the treatment [centers] I had been to before worked, but when I first walked in the doors I was treated with respect and like family.

Once I started my detox I felt great because I was being taken off [the benzodiazepines] slowly and the right way. IOP was my first experience with group therapy. It brought me out of my shell and I gravitated even more to this program.

I don’t even know where to begin with the Restore Program, but I’ll start with the nicest lady and nurse: Lisa. She takes care of you as if you were her own child. Restore has helped me in a lot of ways, it takes the pain away if you have it; it helps my organ with the [IV] bags I get. I want to thank everyone here for saving my life. Peter, Joy, Lisa, and everyone else, thank you.” Brad P., Benzodiazepine and Opiate detox with Restore, IOP

This was such a smooth transition from being benzo-dependent to being benzo-free. The amount of support you receive makes all the difference. From the front desk to the infusion room to daily follow-ups, it keeps you motivated. Connections are made and you don’t want to let down your team. I highly recommend anyone who is struggling with addiction to make the call and get the help you need. You will find it here.” -Anonymous, Benzodiazepine detox with Restore

“For ANY ONE who is struggling with a benzodiazepine addiction and/or dependence, in my case it was Klonopin & Xanax being prescribed DAILY by multiple psychiatrists for the past 10 years, GO TO NEW BEGINNINGS and they will help you to get your life back:)! From my very first phone call i was overwhelmed with the support and kindness by the entire staff. It’s been a little over a month and i am no longer on the strong benzo’s and have had NO withdrawal symptoms. This is a HUGE deal because i have tried to stop taking these drugs before and they have left me in such bad ways because it was too fast of a detox and i had no idea what i was doing, even when i followed they taper suggestions by my OWN DOCTOR:(

The staff at NB are extremely knowledgeable. They listen to you, they support you, they don’t judge you. They use one of THE BEST techniques for benzo detox, The Heather Ashton method, which was founded by a doctor in the UK. They understand the damage the drugs have done to the brain and they encourage a slow, steady recovery to fully heal the brain. Joy, my detox nurse, is one of the kindest people ever and really wants to see people get healed. She checks in with me EVERY day and takes her job very seriously. Robyn, my health coach, has been vital to my recovery as well. Her desire to help is evident and her friendliness is contagious. Peter, my psychiatric nurse practitioner, listens intently and is constantly making sure I am as comfortable as possible. Maribel, the receptionist, is the first face i see when i come to my appointments and she always greets me with a smile. Everybody at NB’s CARES! I just began doing the amino acid IV therapy and i would HIGHLY recommend it to EVERY one. There is a bit of a learning curve but it is well worth taking the time to use this incredible treatment. I really cannot say enough great things about this program. I drive an hour and 15 minutes to each appointment and ever since i began the program i haven’t thought twice about not continuing. I already feel like I am coming back to life. I cannot wait to meet the “real me” at the end of this. I will be FOREVER thankful to New Beginnings and the blessing they have been to my life.”  Rachel D, Benozdiazepine Detox with Restore

“I have been on Suboxone for seven years. My doctor placed me on suboxone for chronic pain. The past two years I have been trying to taper off from 8mgs. I could get down over the course of three months to 1mg of suboxone. This was extremely difficult to taper because of the extreme, protracted withdrawal symptoms. After extensive research I found New Beginnings Recovery Center in South Florida. I came for 9 days to do a medical detox off sever years of suboxone. I was very scared and nervous at first because of all the horror stories and relapse rates I had read about on the internet and drug forums. After my first meeting with Joy the detox nurse I felt less nervous and more at ease. Everyone was very professional and friendly especially Peter and Lisa the infusion nurse. The detox medications to help with the withdrawal symptoms and the Neurotransmitter program, Restore, made the whole process painless. I feel healthier and happier than I have in years. I would recommend this program and NBRC to anyone who has a desire to stop using drugs. I would also be remiss if I did not say how important and useful the group therapy was for me to gain insight into my addiction. Thank you to everyone at NBRC for all your help and care in stopping my suboxone use.” -Michelle H., Suboxone Detox with Restore

“I am 22 years old, my drug of choice was Heroin. I was using for 5 years when my friend passed away so I wanted to get clean. I was looking on the computer to find the best place and New Beginnings Recovery Center was my first pick. The people that work here are very nice and they will do everything they can to help you get clean. I really like the Infusion program, it helps with everything. Makes you feel good and helps rebuild all the brain stuff that was destroyed from using heroin!” –Paul M, Heroin Detox with Restore

“I happened upon New Beginnings on the internet after researching the Heather Ashton method for detoxing from benzo’s. I had been prescribed klonopin for sleep and had been taking it for five years. Of course I had become addicted to it and was in the terrible constant state of withdrawal. I had been drinking daily for years as well. My alcohol intake increased as my body needed more and more to compensate for benzos effects. I knew I needed help as I had tried to titrate off benzos before and had a horrible time experience and had to go back on them. New beginnings was my answer. I was scared, hesitant, full of anxiety and fear going in. New Beginnings IOP got me to a place I never could have achieved in what is now almost my 90th  day sober and down to a tiny amount of Benzo that I should be completely off of in another couple of weeks with  very few of the terrible withdrawal symptoms.

Peter Gannon, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner has helped me more than any psychiatrist or regular internist that has ever attempted to treat my  drug and alcohol addiction  and physiological issues. Peter was able to make a diagnosis and treatment plan to help me make the smooth transition off the alcohol and benzos by  explaining what these drugs and the alcohol are doing to my brain, the process of healing and what the non addictive medication he has me on is doing to stabilize me. The Restore I.V. treatment made me feel calmer yet stronger and healthier. The experience while receiving IV, sitting with other patients and having group therapy with their excellent counselors that always seemed to be around to talk to us any time we needed them during treatments made me learn so much about the work needed to be done to detox and make this a permanent new and different life.

The individual therapy each week with Brian Robertson has  helped  me to target how and why I got to this point and how to change my behavior to bring back the “real me”. I went into this program not realizing the extent of what has happened to my mind, body and spirit a a result of addiction. I am coming out of it with so much confidence in my recovery; physically, mentally and emotionally and am determined to be  able to be myself again. I am not finished healing, its a lifetime process. New Beginnings has empowered me!” –Melissa, Delray

Outpatient Benzodiazepine Detox Testimonials

“Dear New Beginnings, Thank you so much for giving me my life back!! When I came here at the end of December, my life was a mess. Little did I realize back then that my problems were due to two little pills: Klonopin (Clonazapam) and Effexor XR. Because of these little pills I was no longer in charge of my own brain (and therefore my body). They were in charge. It was a scary realization. I cannot thank all of the wonderful people at New Beginnings Recovery Center for helping me through this difficult time. The first part of the detox was surprisingly easy. I kept waiting for something to happen. It didn’t for a while… Then I hit my detox wall around dropping to 5 mg of Valium. I had a few pretty frustrating and depressing weeks. I had all of my initial symptoms back (only much worse) that I took these dangerous medications for to begin with. Well… I was prescribed these medications by a doctor.

Little did I know that I had been in tolerance withdrawal for a long time. I would like to thank Joy especially for trying to keep my spirits up even when things seemed very negative and dark. And Peter as well. I kept going and as I am writing this I took my last pill last night and I have already been off the Effexor for a few weeks. I feel positive and I am getting my life back! And I am finally going to be myself again. I can’t wait to figure out who I really am, and to take the next step in my life.

I highly recommend New Beginnings Recovery Center for any type of benzodiazepine detox. They use the Heather Ashton method, which handles the benzo detox in a very gradual manner. I can only recommend doing this method. Any other way just seems too dangerous. Thankfully everyone here knows just how difficult benzo detox can be.

To anyone using benzodiazepines, please try to get help. Good luck to anyone who is suffering! Detox and recovery are possible. It gets better. A lot better! You are worth it!” – Anonymous

I got back to the same level of alcoholism quickly, causing more issues to deal with both personal and professional. Had some DUI’s in the past, now facing more legal issues. New Beginnings has been a solid program for me. Great support from both the clinical and medical staff. All the support staff is involved and caring. “I am an opiate addict and have had to detox many times over the last 15 years due to various reasons. If you are a opiate addict then you understand that going through the withdrawals is like experiencing a 3 to 5 day car wreck and then months until you sleep and regain your strength back and feel normal again. I recently had the experience of once again having to detox but this time I went to New Beginnings Recovery Center. They offer an outpatient detox using some new medications and the experience was like night and day. I had no withdrawal symptoms and was able to sleep normally immediately. I would recommend this program to anyone that has to stop using opiates after an extended time of use.”  – Tod B. – Stuart, Florida
