Addiction is an illness which affects both the mind and body. We at New Beginnings Recovery Center (NBRC) recognize this and have dedicated ourselves to the treatment of the entire individual. Often times, there are things from the past, present or future which can stand in the way of one’s recovery from addiction. Problems such as anxiety, depression, etc. can easily set the stage for relapse if not properly treated. Many individuals after having gotten clean and sober have found themselves falling backwards into a world of helplessness and hopelessness. Feelings of despair force them back into the addictive pattern of behavior. NBRC offers Psychiatric and Mental Health Services to all clients and patients in any NBRC program. All detox patients automatically receive a Psychiatric evaluation included in all detox programs.

Psychiatric Services
Psychiatric services at NBRC are instrumental in a program of continued recovery. With proper evaluation and diagnosis by our highly trained and experienced staff, we have found that the great majority of our patients have an easier time with their recovery and experience a greater chance of long term recovery.
Co-Occurring Disorders Services
Co-occurring disorders are something we specialize in treating here at NBRC. Mental illness is often a large component to the cause of the addiction which is why we treat both. Mental health and substance abuse are treated simultaneously with our co-occurring disorders program instead of separate.
Mental Health Counseling Services
Our mental health counselors offer client-focused counseling which includes behavioral therapies that not only treat the illness, but understand what caused the illness. Once the causes are determined, our counselors can guide individuals toward life changing goals using the right tools and methods. We want to help each individual live a confident life by shifting the mind from thinking negatively to a more positive outlook.

Further, he serves as an expert mentor and life coach for adolescents and adults. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, John is Board Certified to provide medication prescriptions and psychotherapy for all psychiatric disorders. He is holistic in his approach to mental health.
