Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the study and treatment of mental disorders, including various effective, behavioral, cognitive and perceptual disorders. NBRC offers a variety of Psychiatric Services from Evaluation and Follow Up Treatment, Psychotherapy, Complimentary Alternative Medicine (CAM) therapies and Medication Management.
Outpatient Psychiatric Treatment
Our outpatient psychiatric treatment involves an Initial Evaluation and periodic visits to our office for continual treatment and consultation. Consultations normally involve our Psychiatric Practitioner interviewing the patient to update their assessment of the current condition, and in some cases provide psychotherapy or review medication.
The frequency with which we see patients varies widely, from days to months, depending on the type, severity and stability of each person’s condition, and depending on what we and patient decide would be best. We have found that increasingly many psychiatrists are limiting their practices to psychopharmacology (prescribing medications) with less time devoted to psychotherapy or “talk” therapies, or behavior modification. Most of our office visits involve both medication management and talk therapy.
Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program Includes:
- Psychiatric Assessments
- Psychiatric Medication Management
- Psychiatric Referrals
- Co-Occurring Disorders Diagnoses
- Psychiatric Testing
Benefits of Outpatient Psychiatric Treatment Include:
Flexibility: As a patient, you have the flexibility to maintain daily life and obligations. Sometimes it can be hard to pick up and leave. Our psychiatric services offer the flexibility to maintain sobriety and ongoing mental health treatment.
Cost-Effective: Outpatient psychiatric services don’t cost as much because you aren’t paying for the inpatient facility costs.
Learn to Deal with Daily Stressors: Since you have the ability to go to work, school, and home every day, you are still dealing with reality. Dealing with reality can bring stress. With the outpatient program you will be able to learn how to deal with daily stressors which will help prevent relapse.
Individualized Counseling: Mental health counseling is important for those struggling with mental health disorders because counseling will provide client-orientated solutions to their struggles. Our mental health counseling uses a combination of psychotherapy and traditional practices.
Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) Therapy Options: The CAM therapies use natural remedies and ingredients to help alleviate or reduce withdrawal symptoms during detox. Restoring your body back to its normal nutritional state can help attain a quicker recovery.
