Oupatient Suboxone® Detox Center

New Beginnings Recovery Center (NBRC) offers an outpatient Suboxone® detox program for those dependent on Suboxone® (buprenorphine HCI/naloxone HCI). Since Suboxone® is an opiate, we follow similar methods of detoxification as our Opiate Detox Program. Special skills are required by practitioners to safely and comfortably withdraw from Suboxone®. At NBRC, we have refined a detox protocol the allows a patient to jump off Suboxone® and have all symptoms, both acute and post acute minimized. Suboxone® withdrawal tends to be for a longer duration and the PAWS period seems to more intense than other short acting opiates. Because of this fact we have modified our typical opiate detox protocols to address these differences.

The goal of our Suboxone® detox center is to get the patient free from Suboxone®, reduce the length of the Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS) and reduce the level of intensity of the symptoms.

Suboxone® is useful in the treatment of opiate dependency. We specialize in treating patients that have become dependent on Suboxone® that desire to be completely drug free. When someone stops using Suboxone® the acute withdrawal symptoms are relatively manageable after a slow taper to a very small dose. However, the Post Acute Withdrawal Symptoms (PAWS) can be quite troublesome. Relapse is common due to PAWS.

Some of the components of our Suboxone® detox program are:

• Use various medications that reduce or eliminate acute withdrawal symptoms and PAWS
• Utilize a series of vitamin injections to replace what has been depleted, promote brain health and increase overall well being and reduce cravings
• Use Amino Acid therapy to promote neurotransmitter restoration (brain health) thus aiding healing
• Utilize various vitamin and mineral supplements that have proven track record in promoting healing from opiate dependency and reduce cravings
• Provide “coaching” through the entire process
• Provide optional counseling – individual and groups
• Optional use of Naltrexone or Vivitrol® to block opiates from brain receptor sites, therefore preventing relapse and reduction of cravings

NBRC has been treating opiate dependent patients for many years now. We are now seeing a growing number of Suboxone® dependent individuals. There are many physicians willing to put patients on Suboxone®, but few have the expertise required to help patients get off Suboxone® in a timely and comfortable manner. NBRC prides itself on having the expertise to utilize the latest in addiction related medications, supplements and vitamin therapy. On-Going Suboxone Outpatient Treatment Options

So what are the next steps after I complete Suboxone detox? First of all, after your detox is complete, we will do a follow up evaluation to see where your mind state is at currently. The purpose of this evaluation is to fully understand what your underlying causes of addiction are/were. Sometimes patients will have a combination of reasons such as mental illness and genetics. Whatever it may be, we will be able to develop a customized on-going treatment plan that will be tailored to the causes of addiction.

Suboxone outpatient treatment is not required. Our addiction specialists will always recommend that you complete an on-going treatment program so that you can learn how to deal with life stressors that can trigger relapse. Our goal is for you to become fully recovered and be able to live life the way you want to without the burden of addiction.
